with only five returning members out of 16 total this year. We have made vast improvements over the last few months. We hope to show a lot of spirit and enthusiasm at all performances and games this year. In addition, we have practiced various stunts and pyramids that we hope the crowds wiJI enjoy. Overall, we would like to be a good. clean collegiate-looking squad that shows a lot of school spirit. P erformances: We have pep rallies and foot– ball games once a week during football season. Then. we perform at all Home girls and guys basketball games during basketball season. In addition, we perform at various school and local functions as needed. Camps: The squad io:"~" ,.. the nivcr. ity of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Ala.. every July. 'The collegiate cheer camp is hosted by the Universal Cheerleaders Association. Awards: We received awards at cheer camp this summer at the University of Alabama. We were selected as a "Superior" Squad and a "Most– Improved" Squad. We also received an Excel– lent and three Superior ribbons for our cheer and chant evaluations at camp. Our "Warrior" mascot, Carl Spence, also received all Superior ratings at camp this summer.

Coach or adviser: Coco Boone

History: The ECCC Cheerleaders are usu– ally a co-ed squad made up of girls and guys from all over the school's five-county district and maybe one or two students from out of district. Try-outs: Spring 8emester, April. Candidates are asked to perform a list of requirements including co-ed partner stunts, jumps, tumbling. a cheer and chant, and a dance for the girls. The cheerleaders are judged and scored on each of these requirements by a panel of qualified judges. Requirements: All cheerleader mu::;t be enrolled and pass a minimum of 12 hours each semester and have a cumulative grade point average of 2.0. These cheerleader athletes lose their full-tuition scholarships if the requirements are not met. Practices: The squad f?ractices four to five days a week. In addition to regular practices. they also take gymnastics at Miller's Gym in Newton once a week and lift weights and do fit– ness and conditioning workouts in the Warrior weight room twice a week. Choreography: Coco Boone, the cheer coach, choreographs most all routines with input from the squad.

Fund-raisers: The squad sponsors various fund-raiser. The proceeds are used to purchase new uniforms, poms, megaphones, practice clothes. supplies and various materials needed
