When the new uniforms come in. it will be a totally different and exciting look for the Wall 0' Sound next fall" Carson said his biggest need for the band department is without a doubt a new band hall! w A new band hall is our most pressing need. We have the best equip– ment available, a great practice field, but our band hall space ts depleted! We are storing equipment in all the practice rooms and hall\1.-ay:;, and ewn in my garage at home! "My dream is to have the best band building in the state, that others will want to model after. and a building that will completely serve the needs of our entire band program for years and years to come." In addition to more space, there an• a few other items the band needs. We always have immediate needs for instruments such as tubas, and other large brass instruments. Also, a large U-Haultype truck is essential; at the present time, we mu"t n·nt one for all our trips. Those areas would ' be a great contribution from any alumni, family and friends uf the band," Carson said. Carson has served as director of bands at the college for 23 years. His reason: "I love working with young musicians and providing them with something worthwhile." Maria McLeod is assistant to the vice presidentfor public information at East Central Community Collrge.
