ECCC Softball Award Winners East Central Community College softball team members who received honors at the 2005 Spring Sports Awards Banquet include, from left, Kristin Chaney, most outstanding defensive and offensive play– er; and Obreisha Davis, Lady Warrior Award co-recipient, both products of Newton County High School ; and Marley Smith of Union, most outstanding pitcher and Lady Warrior Award co-recipient. The awards were presented by head coach Scott Hill. Chaney and Smith were also named All-Region 23, all-state and first team all-division. Dominique Mapp of Newton County was selected all-state and first team all-division. Abby Miller of Madison Central and Jennifer Smith of Newton County were chosen second team all-division. The Lady Warriors won the MACJC Central Division title and frn– ished third in the MACJC/Region 23 Tournament en route to a 34-5 record. ECCCphoto.
