ECCC softball ready for big year in 2005 DECATUR - After leading the ~~ Central Community College fast-pitch softball team to a succe~sful 2004 season in his inaugural year a~ head coach, Scott Hill is hopmg his Lady Warriors will enjoy even more success in 2005. All six returnees were Mandout~ on last year's 'quad, which advanced to the ~tate playoffs after placing second in the MACJC Central Division with an 11-5 mark. The Lad) Warriors fell to tournament host Northeast ~fissi~sipp1 Community College (5-0J and Pearl R1ver Communitv College (7-5) en route to an overall 26-16 record. The top returnee from 2004 i-. Kristin Chancy, a product of Newton County High School. who. \\ 111 again start at short stop. Chaney received second team All-American honors in Division 11 and was namcd:l:irM team All-State. She finished the season v:ith a ..-ll3 batting average and had four triples, seven doubles and 15 RBls. She al~o stole 12 bases.
