Warriors continue long year DECATUR - Back in mid– Augu-;t. this football season looked prom1sing for East Central Commu– nity College. The only sure thing now for the Warriors is that they wi11 be through in another week. High hopes began to unravel when returning quarterback Robbie Morse left the team for personal rea– sons before the first game. Then Hurricane Katrina delayed the season and destroyed a good bit~ of the facilities at Warrior Stadium, forcing ECCC to play its home games at Newton County High School. "I think that's factored in big," ECCC head coach Terry Under– wood said. "You don't ever want to make excuses, but Katrina affected all of us, some, especially the teams South of us, more than others. "Starting the season, the teams that had more sophomores back were way ahead. We lost some key players. Robbie Morse had some personal problems. Terrance McFadden came up ineligible.
