-- our days after finishing the regular season with no less than a tie for a postseason berth, ECCC swept Hinds Community College in a home divisional doubleheader to earn a trip to the Region XXIII tournament, with an extra win than neccessary to its credit. "The guys responded," said ECCC head coach Jake Yarbor– ough of the stretch run to end the season. "The time to be playing well is now, and we seem to be peaking at the right time. We are very excited about playing in the region tournament." ECCC will open the Region XXIII tournament against Missis– sippi Gulf Coast Community Col– lege, the tourney's host team. 'The Warriors and Bulldogs will play the final game of the tourna– ment's opening day, which is cheduled to start at 7 p.m. Though ECCC will be playing on Gulf Coast's home turf, Yarbor– ough said he isn't too worried about the Bulldogs holding home– field advantage. "When you get down there, any- ·obody can win," Yarborough said. "It i about getting hot at the right time in the playoffs. I told the guys, if we get in, anything can happen."
