He continued his playing career at Patrick Henry State Junior College in Mon– roeville, Ala., in 1984 and 1985 before earning his bachelor's degree at the University of South Alabama in 1988. McNickle is a member of First Baptist Church in Starkville. He has led the MSU Baseball Team Bible Study for the past three seasons and is also involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. McNickle was named FCA's Southeastern Con– ference Coach of the Year in 2005. He is married to the for– mer Robin Elliott of Houma, La., and they have a son, Trey, 13, and a daughter Jordan, eight.
