EAST CENTRAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE RECEIVES THOMAS EC SCHOLARSSCHOLARSHIP: Newto~ County High School graduate Kirk Nelson (left) is the 2004 recipient of the James and Luvie Thomas EC Scholars Scholarship at East Central Community College in Decatur. Established by the College in 1999, indrviduals, businesses or groups can supply these scholarships, presented to students who are in the top 10 percent of their class. Representing the family are Carol Thomas Sames (center) of Shreveport, La., and Luvie Thomas of Starkville The award was presented d~.rring the College s annual Scholarship Awards Luncheon held Friday.
