EAST CENTRALCOMMUNITY COLLEGE RECEIVE COMMUNITY HEALTHCARE SCHOLARSHIPSAT ECCC: Associate Degree Nursing students Suzette Crocker (left) of Little Rock and Carri Myers of Newton are the 2003-04 recipients of the Newton Community Healthcare Scholarship at East Central Community College in Decatur. The scholarship was established last fall by Newton Community Heathcare, Inc., in partnership with the Grow Your Own Program. The pro– gram received grant funding to establish a scholarship that would benefit students of Newton County as well as the com– munity. It was designed to attract students to the healthcare profession and have them remain in Newton County to work after graduation. To qualify, students must 1) register as full– time students at East Central Community College in the Asso– ciate Degree Nursing or Licensed Practical Nursing programs; 2) Reside in Newton County; and 3) Maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average or "B" average.
