No players from the state were chosen on the first tecun. and two players - freshman infielder Brooke Bradley of Hinds and sophomore outfield– er Staranha Frazier of Northeast Mississippi were tapped on the third team. Lady Warrior head coach Scott Hill said Chaney is "most deserving" of the honor. "Krisl:i.Jjl is a real pleasure to coach. She raises the rest of the team's level of play with the energy she brings to the field every game. Players like Kristin don't come around very often." Chaney helped lead East Central to a 26-16 record and a second-place finish in the MAQC Central Division with an 11-5 mark. Chaney batted .423 with four triples, seven doubles, and 15 RBis. She also scored 34 runs. Chaney is also a standout member of the Lady Warrior basketball team which won the state and Region 23 champi– onships in a 31-4 season.
Chaney named second team All-American After earlier being named All-Region 23, first team MACJC o\11-State, and All– Central Division. East Central Community College freshman fast-pitch softball player Kristin Chaney of Little Rock can add another honor to her resume: second teamAll-American. Chaney, an infielder, is one of only three freshmen and the only Mississippian to receive second-team All-American hon– ors in Division H.
