DECATUR--East Cen– tral Community College's fast-pitch softball team needed just one win against Hinds Community College to earn a berth in the Region 23/MACJC Tournament and that's what they received after earning a split of their Sat– urday afternoon double– header held on the Deca– tur campus. The Lady Warriors, led by first-year head coach Scott Hill, posted a 4-3 victory in the first game and fell I0-0 in the second contest. East Central completed regular season action with a 26- 14 overall record and fin– ished second in the Cen-

The top two teams in the North, Cen– tral and South divisions qualify for the animal com– petition, scheduledMay 7- 9 at Northeast Mississippi Community ·college in Booneville. The Lady Waniors begin action in the double-elimination tourna– ment at 3 p.m. Friday against the host Lady Ti– gers. The winner takes on Copiah-Lincoln at 7 p.m. Friday, while the loser will play at noon Saturday. Fi– nals are scheduled Sunday at 1:30 p.m. (Consolation Bracket) and 3:30 p.m. (Championshlp).
