McDill Inks with ECCC Women's Soccer Maggie McDill, seated right, a Newton County High School senior, is the first high school soccer player to sign for the new women's soccer team at East Central Community College. Seated to her left is Kenneth Thompson, ECCC soccer coach. Present for the signing were her parents, Randy McDill, standing left, and Ellen Upton, standing right. Chad Bond, center, is the Newton County soccer coach. McDill is one of the top ranked students academically with a 4.0 GPA. She has played on the varsity soccer team for six years and has won various awards includ– ing the Cougar Award and the Defensive Most Valuable Player Award. She has made the all-division team the last three years and was voted the Division 4-3A Defensive Player of the Year in 2003-2004. Photo by Lois Cooper.
