Jones and East Central will wrap up the 2004 regular season 'I1mrsday night when they tangle in an MACJC South Division contest at Decatur. Kickoff is set for 6:30p.m. The teams have equally divided the last rour meetings. Jones comes into the fray with a 6-2 overall record and a 3-2 division mark. The Bobcats' two losses were to unbeaten Pearl River and once-beaten Hinds. ECCC is 4-4 overall and 2-3 in league play. Three of ECCC's four losses have been to Pearl River, Hinds and once-beaten Northwest. A win would give the Warriors their first winning season since 2001. "We've talked that this is still a very important game for a lot of different reasons," said ECCC head coach Terry Underwood. "No. 1, it would insure us of a winning season, which is very important for our sophomores because they've put in a lot of time and effort, and for our freshmen going into our offseason. It's some– thing positive you want to take with you. "1bis is the last time this group is going to get

to play together. 1 tell our team each year that as far as I know. there will be another East Central team, but it won't be this team That's a unique- ness in itself. · "And it's a home game mlCI we havcn'tlost a home game this year. We take pride in that," Underwood added. "1 think our kids will be moti– vated. Jones is a quality team and we've got to be ready to play." · Jones is averaging 27.1 points and ~riving up 18.9. "They're one of the better offensive teams we've seen," Underwood said. 'They have a lot of different formations. lbey are a more run-ori– ented team than Pearl River. They're going to establish the run and then throw off of that. '"If we can make them one-dimensional, it will be to our advantage much like we did Hinds last week." ECCC dropped a 21-10 contl·sl at Hinds, while Jones beat Copiah-Lincoln 30-19 in last week's games. "Even though w<1 didn't win at Hinds, we did

big plays.

"Our kids played their hearts out, they just "oidn't make the plays and that's what we've got to do this week if we expect to beat a good jones
