• Melvin Wooten, Gilbert Barham are new radio voices for ECCC football. _ Spedal to the Record A new voice will be heard on the radio this season broadcast– ing football games for East Cen– tral Community College in Decatur. Veteran broadcaster Melvin Wooten of Carthage will call the action for Warrior gridiron bat– tles, which can be heard on KICKS 98 (98.3) in Carthage. He will be joined in the booth by game analyst Gilbert Barham of Philadelphia, a longtime sidekick of Mike Goodwin of Carthage who served as the radio voice of the Warriors for 19 years. Good– win recently sold his WSSI-FM (98;3) station to Boswell Broad– casting in Kosciusko, which now operates under the call letters WCKK-FM. Wooten previously served as the broadcast voice for Holmes Community College football games and continues to serve as the radio voice for high school foo tball action on KICKS 98. Melvin and his wife also have three grandsons, Logan, Chandler and Jon Dylan Wilcher. Barham has served the past 10 years as a color analyst for War– rior football games broadcast on WSSI-FM and most recently on WZKR-FM (103.3) in Meridian. He is employed with the Missis– sippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks and current– ly holds the rank of master sergeant. He spent 15 years as an educa– tor and coach at schools in Leake and Kemper counties. Barham is a 1972 graduate of
