Newton County Academy infielder Sam Thames (seated center) has signed a national letter of intent to continue his athletic career at East Central Community College in Decatur. Thames, who plays second base and third base, owns a .413 batting average at the time of his signing. He is also a former~standout at Newton High School, where he receivedAll-Division honors'andwon the Golden Glove Award.
