On Saturday, the Warriors lost a seesaw battle in the 9-5 opener, then were routed 11-1 in the nightcap. ln Game I. EMCC built a 6-0 lead, but a three-run homer in the top of the sixth by Robby Carey helped pull the Warriors wtthin 6-5. That's as close as EC came, as tJ1e Ltons got three insur– ance runs in the bottom of the sixth. East Central Community College dug itself a hole in the Central Divi– sion baseball race last week by drop– ping three-of-four contests. The Warriors ventured to highly– touted Holmes Community College last Wednesday and drilled the Bull– dogs 13-3 in the first game of a dou– bleheader. But ECCC lost a 6-4 heart– breaker in the second game, then got swept at East Mississippi by scores of 9-5 and 11-1 on Saturday. That sweep dropped the Warriors to 10-20 overall and l-5 in division action. EC was to host nationally– ranked Meridian Community College Tuesday and will go to Hinds Friday for two league contests. In last week's split at Holmes, the Warriors erupted for eight runs in the top of the seventh inning to break open a close game and take a 13-3 win
