"I've never won a state championship or region championship before this year or had a chance to go to nationals. so th1s tournament means a lot to me and I hope I get a cnance to go agam next year,· said redshirt freshman Krystle Hunter from Noxapater. "It's a chance to show that we are the best," said sophomore Britney Burks from Scott Central. "It means a lot," said freshman LaSaundra Harrison from Union "It is my fir~t time to be involved in national competition • "It is the highest honor,· sa1d freshman Kristin Chaney from Newton County High School. "This is what you work your butt off for. It is unbelievably exciting. These are the biggest games I will ever play in.· "This will give me a lot of exposure, as well as an experience of a lifetime," said freshman Kotreece Bender of Newton "As a team, I think the national tournament is just another challenge for us. It will be the biggest one yet, but if we face it like the family that we are, then we will be okay."

"A blessing from God to be here," said sophomore Kimyatta Viverette of lake.

Know this, the Lady Warriors will be facing teams from regions not bound by the limited recruiting districts that Mississippi schools impose on themselves.

Several of the other teams- louisburg, N.C., and Trinity Valley (Texas) have already checked into the same motel with us. We saw the Vincennes, Ind., team at dinner Sunday night.

There are some mighty tall girls in this tournament.

Know this too. The lady Warriors aren't going to back down.
