: erttxJ M a:M'U·n 13:' East Central women 74, LakeRegion State ee SALINA, Kan. - Kristin Chaney scored 18 points, Kim– yatta Viverette 11 and Kotreece Bender 10 to propel East Cen– tral CC to a victory over Lake Region State (N.D.) in the con– solation round of the NJCAA women's tournament. The LadyWarriors, 30-3, will play Weatherford (Texas) today at noon in the consolation semis. East Central trailed 35-32 at halftime but rallied to earn its first-ever win at Salina after three previous losses. LakeRegion, 24-10, took a 40- 35 lead with 16:25 left, but the LadyWarriors respondedwith a 10-0 run and never trailed again. Viverettte added 11 rebounds and four blocked shots to the ECCCcause.

HUfCHINSON, Kan.- Ftve players scored in double figures to lead Northwest Mississippi Community College to a 95-80 victory over Highland (Til.) CC Thursday in the consolation bracket of the NJCAA men's tournament. Northwest, 28-4, will play Vincennes (Ind.) today at noon in the consolation semis. TheRangers had to overcome 17 first-half turnovers and a sev– en-point second-half deficit to get the win against Highland_ Northwest trailed 37-33 at halftime but tied the game at 65- 65 with 10:361eft. The Rangers then reeled offa 15-4run. Sophomore fot:mrd Antonio Shaw led Northwest with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Rory Green and Joemal Campbell added 15 points each. Highland fell to 32-3.
