Pearl River, East Central bring home state crowns

From tpeelalreports BOONEVILLE - Pearl River Community College used a fierce second-half rally Thursday night to subdue Hinds 71-60 and repeat as MACJCmen'sbasketballchampion. The WJ.ldcats, 19-8, trailed 38- 28 at halftime in the state tourna– ment final before Jonathan Wtlliams' 3-pointer with 1:35 left gave them thelead for good. CarlosCole ledPearl River with 16 points, followed by Williams and Larry Brackinswith 14apiece. Wildcats coach Richard Mathis earned his sixth state title and fourth in 13years atPearl River.
