Nick~on of Scott Central and Monique Overstreet of South Leake all signed with ECCC last week. The group signing occured during ceremonies held April 8 at the Brackeen-Wood Physical Education Building on the Decatur campus. Al~o signing from within the Lady Waniors' district for 2002-03 were Kimy~tta Vh·erette of Lake, Miranda Rosar and Elyse Willis, both of Xeshoba Central and Lenore Gray of Newton. Rita Birden, St. Fredrick High School m Monroe, La., ·igned as an out-of-state play– er. Overstreet, a 5-10 forward,, averaged 20 points and 1b rebounds per game for the Wildklttens. She was named All-District following the 2001-2002 season and played for Richard River s at South Leake. Burks averaged 20 points, e\·en rebounds and five assists her senior year with the Scott Central Lady Rebels. She was a five-time All-

Dhision player during her high school career and was named to the Class lAAll-State team fol– lowing the Lady, Rebels 2000 state championship. Burks was also recently selected to play in th1s sum– mer's Mississippi All-Star Girls Basketball game. Nickson averaged 17 points and 11 rebounds her senior year at SCHS. She also was a five-time All– Division selection and a 2000 Class 1AAll-State player. Burks and Nickson both began playing varsity basket– ball for Chad Harrison in the eighth grade. Brad Hodge is the head coach of the East Central

women's basketball squad. Warriors sign six The East Central Warrior s signed six players last week for the 2002-03 season. Tawon Walker and Tavares Walker, both of Neshoba Cen– tral High School; Tellas Burn– side, Philadelphia High School and Al Willis, Newton County High School, were in-district signees for East Central. Stephen Dyess and J amaal Martin , both of Northeast Lauderdale High School, s igned from outside t he dis– trict. Billy Smith is the head coach of the East Central men's squad.
