Bro,vn of Scott Central, six. Audosha Kelly had 21 pomts to lead the Lady Wildcats who improved to 10-3 and 4-1. The Lady Warriors, now 8-6 and 2-3, rallied to take a 35-34 lead at the break. LaCow· poured in 24 points and led the Lady Warriors to a 74-63 South Division win over Jones County Junior College on Tuesday, Jan. 22. The victory snapped a four– game losing skid and provided the EC women with their first win of the new year. In addition to LaCour, other EC scorers were Cumberland, nine, Brown, seven; and Melinda Ben of Choctaw Central, four. East Central led 35-22 at halftime. In men's action , the Warriors fell 76-64 to the host Bobcats despite another 28- point output by Hornsby. Additional scorers for EC were Denson, 12; Craig, 10, and Hatch, two. JC led 26-20 at the break.

College's \Yarnor, :mapped a five-gamt lo;:,mg ,treak by defeating Pearl Ri\'er Commumty Colle~e 94- 1 Thursday Jan. 24. in the Brackeen-\\ood gym on the Decatur campus. With the win, EC lmpro,·ed to 5-9 O\'erall and 1-4 m South DiVISion. Corey Hornsby led EC in scoring with 28 points. Also scoring were Winfred Craig, 24; James Denson of Choctaw Central, 17; and Clint Hatch of Carthage, four. Yandall Brown had 34 points to lead Pearl River, which dropped to 6-7 and 1-4. East Central led 48-33 at halftime. In the women's contest, the Lady Warriors let a second-half lead slip away and fell 77-75 to the PRC women.
