EC struggles in hoops a

Corey Hornsby led the Warriors with 19 points. Maurice English of Union scored 11, Winfred Craig and Donze! Crenshaw had 10 apiece, Demario Qualls added nine, with James Denson tossing in eight. The Warriors held a 30-28 advantage at halftime. • Southwest women 64, EC 55: The Lady Warriors got off to a good start as they carried a 29-20 lead in to half– time Thursday at Decatur but were outscored 44-26 in the second half as they lost their fourth game in a row. EC, 7-5, got 17 points from Nikki LaCour, 11 from Christina Ford, and seven from Tarnekia Foley. Makeya Downing led Southwest, 9-3, with 22 point'S. • Southwest men 82, EC 80: Corey Hornsby's game– winning 3-pointer at the hom in overtime rimmed out as the Warriors fell to 4-8. EC got off to a horrible start as the Warriors Lrailed 22-5 with just under seven minutes elapsed. Southwest took a 44-29 lead into halftime. Hornsby led the Warriors with a career-high 36 point~. The Lady Warriors got 20 points from Nikki LaCour, 12 from Christina Ford, seven from Ashley Brown, and six each from Lori Cumberland, Melinda Ben, and Tamekia Foley. • Co-Lin men 80, EC 74: The Wolves snapped a four– game losing streak with the Jan. 14 win at Wesson. EC fell to 4-7 overall and 0-2 in league competition.
