ECCC Signs NEL Pair Northeast Lauderdale H1gh School basketball standouts Jamaal Martin (seated at left) and Stephen Dyess are shown signing national letters of intent to continue their athletic-careers at East Central Community College in Decatur. Martin averaged 19.8 points. four assists and three stea:s th s past season He also led the team with 69 three-point field goals He was named to the A 1-D stnct team and was selected Northeast Lauderdale's Most Valuable Player. Martin will participate in the Mississippi All-Star Game this summer. Dyess scored 12 points per game and averaged seven rebounds, five assists and four steals. He was selected AII-Distnct. In addition, he was chosen team captain and received the TroJan Award for two consecutive years. He was also selected most athletic. JUCO SoccER Lauderdale. He played five sea– sons for coach Jim Mathews. He is the son of Jeanette Neal of Meridian. Archuleta played forward at Richland. He is a three-time All– District player. During his senior season, Archuleta scored 40 goals to rank second in the state in all classifications. Walker played goal-keeper at Newton County. He played five seasons for the Cougars under Shannon Cooley. He is the son of john and Bonnie Walker of Decatur. Swayze played mid-fielder for Olive Branch. During his senior year, he scored 11 goals and had seven assists t J help his team win the Division l-5A title.
