East Central takes two from Holmes

A 76·63 win over Holmes Tuesday night, along with an 82-69 victory over Itawamba on Monday, has the Warriors at 5-4 heading into Thanksgiving. "We're starting to play pretty good together," ECCC head coach Bill Smith said. "We had contributions from everybody on the floor tonight. "We challenged them. Holmes is suppo..,ed to be the No. l team in the North (Division) and we were able to hold them in the first half. The first five minutes of the second half we turned it up a notch and got a lead and were able to hold on down the stretch." The Warriors led 17-5 nine minutes into the game, but Holmes, 6-3, went on a late 8· 0 run to take a 32-30 lead into the brenk. A 9~ run put El' t;<.; up 44-34 "ith 16:09 left.
