East Central b From staff reports The East Central Community Col– lege basketball teams were swept out of the the South Division Tournament at Summitt Monday night. The Lady Warriors were sent pacl:– ing by virtue of a shocking 69-64 up"et at the hands of the Hinds Communin: College Lady Eagles, while the Eai• Central men dropped a 98-79 deciSion to Copiah-Lincoln. • Hinds 69, East Central women 64: Nationally-ranked ECCC wa' ahead by nine points late in the conte--t but couldn't hold on as the Lady Eagle~ notched the stunning win on the cam– pus of Southwest Mississippi Commu– nity College.

Copiah-Lincoln's Wolves are now 19- 5 on the year. The Warriors {12-14) got 22 points from former Louisville standout Win– fred Craig and 17 from ex-Choctaw Central star James Denson. Former Newton County Academy standout Matthew Roebuck pumped in 11 points for ECCC, as did Markeith Brown. • North State Tournamen t: Both of the teams from East Mississippi Community College will be in action today in the North Division tourna– ment at Northwest CC in Senatobia. The Lady Lions of EMCC take on Northeast at 4 p.m., while the East Mississippi men battle Northeast's Tigers at 8 p.m.
