Newton County High graduate Charlene Foreman is the recipient of the \tlississippi Association of Supervisors Scholarship and the T. 1. Beemon Scholarship to attend East Central Community College. The Supervisors scholarship is awarded annually to one of the five counties in the djs~ trict on a rotating basis. The Beemon Scholarship is awarded each year to a student from the Little Rock area who plans a career in pre-medidne, pre-aentistry, or a related field.

Newton County Academy graduate Nathan Stamper is the 2001 recipient of the Paul V. and Voncile H. Breazeale Ministerial Scholarship to attend East Central in Decatur.
