ECCCSports MOORHEAD--A late touch– down by Miss1ssipp i Delta Community College gave the homestanding Trojans a 14-7 win over East Central Commu– nity College Thursday night in the season opener for both teams. Although obvious ly d isap– pointed with the loss, Warrior head football coach Terry Underwood said he was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played a hard-fought football game; we just made too many mistakes and did not capi– talize on scoring opportunities and Delta did. I told our players that one game does not make a season, and that our focus now is to concentrate on beating Coahoma this Saturday," Underwood said. QuarterbackBerkediusWomack of Ruleville provided the Tro– jans with the winning margin when he tallied from three yards out with 1 :38 remaining, cap– ping a nine-play, 8 1-yard drive.
