his alma mater, Neshoba Central. But now, Cheatham has returned to coaching at the colle– giate level - he once served as special teams coach at Clemson – and he is loving it. "I feel like I've died and gone to heaven," he said. "(East Central head coach) Terry (Underwood) runs a very good program, and there's a pleasant atmosphere at this campus." Underwood was glad he invited Cheatham to join his staff. "We think be's great," Underwood said. "He's a great · guy, and a seasoned coach. Plus, he's worked at the collegiate level before, and that's good experience. He's only been here a short time, but the players really respect him." Cheatham sees several of his fonner players on the East Central roster, including sophomore offen– sive lineman Cedric McAfee (6-3, 320). sophomore defensive back Buck Thames (5- 11 , 172), and It c1.hman offcnsivc Iincrnan l .l'andtl'W McDonald (6 0, 255) <'h~·111ham ', dutil's with lhc Wuttuu' tlldtult• toad llttV lllll' 1!,11 l..t" .111d • pc•n,tl ll'lllll\.
