In makmg his recommendation before the Board ofTrustees at its · April meeting, Dr. Sutphin said Killens "has done an admirable job as lntenm Vice President and ,.,·ill make a significant contribu– tion to the Col lege as the pennanent Vice President." Dr. Sutphin added, "Because of the performance of Mr. Killens and the current and future budget shortfall, this course of actiOn will allow us to continue the hiring freeze for the Activity Center position thereby saving the cost of that position." Prior toJoining the ECCC staff. Ktllens \\as employed by Itawamba County Schools. where he first served as econom1cs instructor and coach before bemg named Alternative School Dir-ector. He is also a former soc1al studies mstructor and coach at Clarkdale Atten– dance Center Killens. a Umon native, has a master's degree from the University ofMisSJSsippl and a bachelor's degree from the Umversity ofSouth– em Mississippi. He attended ECCC prior to 1ransferring to USM. He is marrieJ to tht former Ten Flint of Philadelphia and bas two ·hildrcn. Kyle and Allie.
