The East Central Community College Ladv Warriors and \1\rarriors both claimed ho~ecourt wins over Holmes and Itawamba in pre-Thanksgiving action at Decatur. The Lady Warriors brought a by 5-l record into this week, while Marty the Warriors evened their mark at Stamper 3-3 with their third-straight win. • EC women 77, Holmes 62: Sophomore guard "-:ikki "LaCour scored 15 points to lead the Lady Warriors past Holmes on Nov. 19. LaCour was 7-of-8 at the free-throw line. EC led 39-20 at halftime. The Lady Warriors also got 13 points apiece from Melinda Ben and Christina Ford, U from Belinda Potter, six from Becky Kl11en, and four each from Tamekia Foley, Lakelia Bogan, and Patsy McKee. Monica Lee led Holmes, 2-4, with 12. • EC men 70, Holmes 65: The Warriors atoned for an 81-57 season-opening beating with their win on Nov. 19. Freshman forward Corey Hornsby had 18 points to lead the Warriors, 2-3. Winfred Craig scored 17, James Denson tossed in 10, and Markeith Brown and Donze! Crenshaw both added eight. B.J. Townsend led Holmes, 3-3, with 16. Holmes led 35-33 at the break. • EC women 59, ltawcupba 58: EC played chase most of the night before taking the one– point win on Nov. 20. Nikki LaCour scored a1117 of her points in the second half as the Lady Warriors improved to 5-l. She was 7-of-9 at the free– throw line. Christina Ford tossed in 15 points for EC, with Belinda Potter scoring 13 and Shaneka Cistrunk adding seven. Jtawamba, which led 29-24 at halftime, fell to 2-3. • EC men 68, Itawamba 67: The Warriors evened their record at 3-3 with the Nov. 20 victory.
