ECCC Women's Tennis Team Defeats Hinds, Gulf Coast

The East Central Community College women's tenrus team enjoyed another successful week of competition, as the Lady Waniors claimed wins over Gulf Coast en March 23 in com– petition held at Jones County Junior College in Ellisville, and defeated Hinds en March 20 in Decatur. In the 7-2 win over Gulf Coast, East Central women who won in singles competition were Kasey Comans of Newton County Academy, Haley Chance of Forest, April Foley of Newton County and Brandy Burnett of Louisville. Winners in doubles were Chance and Foley, Comans and Jessica Weeks of Forest, and Burnett

and Bridgett Stamper of New– ton County. In men's action, the Warriors were defeated by a 9- 0 margin. Both squads also dropped decisions to the host Lady Bob– cats and Bobcats, as the EC women fell S-4 and the Warri– ors were outscored 9-0. Chance, Foley, and Burnett claimed vic– tories in singles competition, and Chance and Foley teamed to win their doubles match. Against Hinds, the Lady Warriors wen 7-2 while the men fell 9-0. Winners in the singles competition were Chance, Foley, Weeks Burnett and Courtney Cooper of Forest. In doubles, winners were Chance and foley and Weeks andComans.
