A scholarship honormg the memory of a former faculty member was recently endowed at East Central Community College in Decatur. The Stella Weathersby Newsome Sholarships pays tribute to the long time literature instructor who served the college from its beginmng in 1928 until her retirement in 1958. In addition to being recog– nized for her distinguished teaching career, ~ewsome is regarded a on~ of the founders ofthen East Central Jun– ior College, wluch was established in 1928.
