STATE OFFICIAL HONORS SMITH-or. Ned Lovell (left), division chair of educational leadership at Mississippi State University and coordinator for the Mississippi Commu– nity/Junior College Fellowship Program, recently presented re– tiring East Central Community College Presid,nt Dr. Eddie M Smith with a plaque of appreciation for his support of the Fel– lowship Program. The MCCFP was established in 1994 and is sponsored by the Phil Hardin Foundation. Its purpose is to pro– vide professional development in training community/junior col– lege leaders fro the 21st Century. The award presentation was made on the Decatur campus during a luncheon attended by vari– ous ECCC "fellows" who have completed program requirements. Dr. Smith, who has served as [CCC president since 1985, earlier announced plans to retire in June, 2000. (EC Photo)
