Weem of ewton has been named to the All-USA Aca– demic Second Team, a competi– tion sponsored by USA Today, the Amencan Association of Comrnwlity Colleges and Phi Theta Kappa, the interna– tional honor society of the two– year college. Weems, who was earlier named to the 2000 Mississippi all-State Academic Team, i~

All-USA honorees were fea– ttued m the April 10 edition of USA Today. Weems was one of over 1400 applicants selected for the second team. Selections were made based man evalua– tion of the applicant's leader– shtp skills, academic achieve– ments and commwlity service involvement. See STUDENT on page 7A
