R tptenb of various base– team awards for the 2000 season ha\ e been selected at East Central Community Col– ege m Decatur, announced ~a­ nue Clart.., Diamond W arnor head coach. Sophomore outfielder Pat- nck Ferris of Clinton was named "Exemplary Player of the Year." Ferris batted .263 with two home runs, two triples and eight doubles. He also scored 27 runs and had 18 RBis. The most valuable player award went to freshman short– stop Brent Page of Philadel– phta Page, a former standout at Neshoba Central High school, batted .287 with five home runs and 24 RBis. Sophomore outfielder Toby PI!'L-.on of Little Rock was cho– sen outstanding offensiv'€ player. The Newton CountY Academy product hit .366 with t\~ o homers and 11 doubles. He collected 25 RBis. Pinson was also selected All-Region 23 and All-State. Freshman outfielder Kent Chamblee of Carthage was named outstanding defensive player. Chamblee, a former Leake Academy standout,
