In tfie second game, Gulf Coast snapped a scoreless battle with a pau of runs in the top of the fifth. Knight and Kenny Dellenger both nad RBI-singles. The Warriors got their lone run of the day in the bottom of the sixth as Ferris led off with a single and Kent Chamblee walked. Monty MigHacio's field– er's choice put runners on the comers. A passed ball on Justin Webb's strikeout enabled Ferris to score. LSU signee Chuck Butler (7 -1) struck out 12 in six innings to get the win. He allowed two hits and walked four. In upping their overall record to 19-18, the Warriors got a pair of complete game performances from Jayeson McDonald and Allen Buckley. McDonald (4-4) tossed a six– hitter in the opener, striking out nine and walking two. Brent Page went 3-for-4 with a single, a double, and a triple. Patrick Ferris had an RBI-tr1ple and two RBis in the game. Toby Pinson had two singfes and one RBL while Justin Webb had an RBI-single. Buckley (1-3) tossed a three– hitter for the Warriors in the nightcap, striking out six and walking three. The Warriors scored twice in the top of the third to take a 2-0 lead and added a pair of insur– ance runs in the seventh. In the third, Chuck Welch walked and Kent Chamblee fol– lowed with a double.
