A graduate of Ncshoba Central High School, Cliburn received an a')sodate qf arts degree from East Central Commu.nit~ College, where she was awarded the Alatha Chaney Engllsh Award and was a member of the Scholars Bowl team. She gradu– ated rum laude from Mississippi State University with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education. She has completed additional studies at MSU. She is married to Gene Cliburn and they have four children, Erin, Logan, Caroline and Byars. Cliburn's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Hal Byars of Philadelphia.
