Under the direction of Ms. Moore, the ECCC SIFE Team presented its educational out– r~ach projects at the 2000 Spe– ctal Competition in the 2-year division, and earned cash awards totaling $2,500. Teams were judged on the effectiveness of their projects during a 25- minute presentation and evalu– ated en creativity and innova– tion, results of education pro– grams, success in utilizing re– sources and documentation of activities.

Wanda Moore, instructor of economics, has been named a Sam M. Walton Free Enterprise Fellow for the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) Team at East Central Community College. Active on more than 700 college campuses in 48 states and 15 countries, SIFE encourages stu– dents to take what they are learning in the classroom and apply it to real-life situations, and to use their knowledge to better their communitie.s through educational outreach
