ECCC basketball teams win in Jon~ Tourney Basketball season began on a successful note tor the ·East Central Community College Warriors who defeat~d Delgado (La.) and Coahoma in the Jones County Junior College Tournament held on the Ellisville campu-; November 1-2. Scott Central and Sasha Lilly of Shelby County, Ala., six each; Becky Killen of Sebastopol, five; Lashanta Lyles of Morton and Jautesha Crockett of Philadelphia, four each; Jessica Sanders of Edinburg, three; Tonya Viverette of South Leake, two; and Alberta Norman of Newton, one. Kristi Moore of oxapater and Stephanie Harber of For– est also saw action. The Lady Warriors led 36-27 at halftime.

Arral Parkerson, a former Neshoba Central standout pumped in 19 points and led EC to a 69-64 win over Coa– homa on November 2, and Jed the Warriors with 23 points in a 101-89 thrashing of Delgado the pre\'IOUS day. Other scorers in the Coahoma contest were Shawn Moss of Lynchburg, Va., 11; Lamond Bowie of ~lorton. nine; Matthew Roebuck of Newton County Academy, eight; Joe Copeland of Emerison, Ark., and Otha La\ ot Lake, stx each; Mile Batalo of Belgrade, Yougos1a\ 1a, four; and Kent Chamblee of Leake Academy and Chns Webb of Neshoba Central, three each. Kellis Greer of Against Delgado, other Warrior point makers were Lay, 19; Batalo and Bowie, 15 each; Moss, seven; Chad Clemons of Philadelphia and Roebuck, six each. Cham– blee, five; Webb, three; and Greer, hvo. Copeland also saw action. The Warriors held a 48-35 advantage at the break The Lad)' Warriors rebounded from a season opening 93-91 loss to Delgado by thumping Coahoma 80-58 to conclude tournament play at Jones. In the win over Coahoma, Margo Porter of Louisville was the leading scorer with 15 points. Other scorers were Tonya Moncrief of Newton, 13; Nicole' Cox of lake, 11, Anna Udicova of Presov, Slovokia, 10; Letitia Ringo of . eshoba Central also saw action. Coahoma led 36-29 at halftime.

In the loss to Delgado, EC point makers were Mon– crief and Porter, 19 each; Udicova and Lilly, 12 each; Cox e1ght; Crockett, six; Killen and Norman, five each; and Leath Fulcher of Winston Academy and Harber, two each and Sanders, one. EC led 46-33 at the break. East Central hosts East Mississippi on Friday, Novem– ber 5; travels to Holmes on Monday November 8; and entertains Bishop State (Ala.) beginning at 5:15 Thurs– day, November 11. The Warrior basketball teams gave rival east Missis– SIPPI a taste of "home cooking" Friday night as the lady Warriors and Warriors posted victories at East Central. The men, led by Morton sophomore Lamond Bowie's 26 points rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit to claim a 94-88 decision while Tonya Moncrief of Newton pumped in14 points to lead the Lady Warriors in a 67-52 win. Also scoring for the mens team was freshman Otha Lay of Lake with 19 points. Nicole Cox o~ lake added 10 points in the girls game while Stephanie Harber of Forest added five points to the teams tally.
