EC Players to present 'Spoon River Anthology'
"The River is Wide" and "A Paper of Pins." The roles and impersonations are of a deacon, a teacher, a poet, a soldier and a housewife, to name only a few. The theme is the human condition with all its sadness, valor, humor and inspiration. This constantly moving col– lection was put into play form by Charles Aidman and is directed by Lila Hunt. Cast members include Josh Fitch of Carthage, Karen Hailey, Adam Mann, Hank Moreau, Shirley McKee, Huellen Nutt, Matt Purvis, Tim Pittman, Marci Wall, and Melissa Till. Serving as accompanists are Christy Price of Carthage and Michael Hodgins. - - ------
The Central Community College Players will begin the 1999-2000 sea– son with the Edgar Lee Master's classic "Spoon River Anthology." Performances will be held at· 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, and at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 22-23, in the Ovid S. Vickers Fine Arts Center on the Decatw· campus. Admission is free and the pub– lic is invited. Acemete1·y is the setting for this classic collection of poetry, which has former inhabitants of the town talking about their lives from the perspective of the grave.
