Kinton selected to be ECCC music instructor Tonv Kinton of Carthage

was r~cently named choral music instructor at East Central Community College in Decatur, announced Dr. Eddie M. Smith, College pres– ident. Kinton. who has taught Engli-.h and literature as a member of the ECCC adjunct faculty since 1993, previously served as English instructor and choir. choral ensemble director of Philadelphia High School. He is also a former adjunct developmental English instructor at Meridian Community College. In addition, he previously taught junior high and high school music at Choctaw Central schools. and was min– ister of m~ic at First Baptist Church in Philadelphia and at Cros~gates Baptist Church in Brandon. He also served as assistant admimstrator of public school music at Richland Attendance Center and was choral mus1c teacher for Brookhaven City Schools. He 1s a former bandichoral director at Leake Academy in Madden. Kinton is also a widely known outdoors \\Titer and photographer, with approxi– mately 2000 articles pub– lished in 21 different maga– zine titles. He served as Mississippi editor of ·outdoor Life" from 1984-96, and is a current contributor for "Mississippi Outdoorsfl and

Cline Watkins named to ECCC 'Fame' electors District 4 Supervisor Cline Watkins of Lena has been appointed to East Central Community College's Athletic Hall of Fame selectors. These selectors will be vot– ing on the honorees for Homecoming 1999 in the near future.

KINTON "Mississippi Woods and Waters". He is a monthly con– tributor to Game and Fish publications and serves as edi– tor of "Mississippi Wildlife Officers" magazine. He has also authored three books. A graduate of Carthage High School, Kinton attended East Central Community College and received a bache– lor's degree in music educa– tion and a masters of applied music from Mississippi College. He has completed an additional 24 hours toward a master of arts degree in English from MC. Kinton has completed an additional 31 hours toward a master of church music degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
