EC outdoor classroom East Central Community College recently completed its Arboretum/Outdoor Classroom project, which was funded through an Urban and Community Forestry Grant from the Mississippi Forestry Commission in cooperation with the USDAForest Service and the Southern Group of State Foresters and with private donations. As a part of the pro– ject, more than 250 trees were planted on the ECCC cam– pus and 91 of the trees were labeled w_ith both their scien– tific and common names: Shown at one of the markers is (from left) College J;>resident Dr. Eddie ¥· Smith, Rick Olson, Partnerships Coordinator for the Mississippi Forestry Commission; and Ron Davis, Chairman of the ECCC Science Department autt Chairman of the Grant Implementation Committee.
