A graduate of Forest High School, Lovett received an associate of arts degree from ECCC, a bachelor's degree in speech from USM and a master's degree in administration from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. In addition, he has completed graduate cou rses tn abnormal psychblogy and social psy– chology at \.1ississippi State University. He is married to the former Sandra Concord of P'ensacola and they have two grown daughters and one granddaughter.
