Receive State Championship Rings!

DECATUR--These members of the 1998 East Central Community College baseball team proudly display nngs the) received for winning the College's first state championship in the sport. Standing from left are head coach Jamie Clark; pitcher Dan Gressett, Lake: outfielder Greg Wood, Newton County; pitcher Dennis McDill, Leake Academy; and College president Dr. Eddie M. Smith. Each team member was presented a championship ring ear– lier this summer. East Central won the state title by defeating defending champion GulfCoast IS-8 on May 3. The Diamond Warriors advanced to Region 23 Tournament competition en route to a 32- 22 season record.
