The scholarships were established by family members and friends of the popular 1997 ECCC graduate who lost his life in an automobtle acctdent on July 9, 1998. While a student ·at East Central, the Dean's List scholar was selected "Mr. ECCC" and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, War– rior Corps, and various other organizations. He was a so a member of the Warrior golf team which won the Region 23, Division Ill Champtonshtp his sophomore season . Ben was a 1995 graduate of Neshoba Central High School where he served as student body president and was voted "Most Outstanding Senior." An accounting major, Myers was a senior at the Unive'rsity of Mississippi where he was a Dean's List scholar and a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes·and the Ambassadors, a vol– unteer student recruiting group. Recipients of the Ben Myers f'v1emorial Scholarships receive $500 and must be a high school graduate from either Nashoba Central, Philadelphia or Choctaw Central.
