The Collegtans of East en– tral Community College in Decatur have been selected to perform at the first annual "Lights, Camera and Mu<•ic Fe'– tival" scheduled Thursday, .1ay 22, at Universal Studio:-, Fla ThE' talented group's perfor– mance begins at 4 p.m., accord– ing to Thomas W. Carson, direc– tor/guitarist. Carson said the Collegian:c– were chosen to participate in the event aftP.r festival official.. reviewed a tape of the group':. performance last fall. ~we are very honored to be selected to perform at the Festival and are especially glad for our student:> who really enjoy being able to entertain at events such as this," Carson said. The performance at Univer:.al Studios marks the seventh– straight year the Collegians have been invited to appear in concert at an out-of-state event In 1996, the popular musicians

were lhe only musical group from Mississippi chosen to per– form at the Summer Olympics in Atlanta. ln addition to Carson, other Collegians and their respective high schools include Shaun Lloyd, Morton; Jason Wallace and Joseph Nowell, both of. Louisville; Jay Smith, Scott· Houston, Chas Evans, Josh Bamberg, Shetla Oliver, Marci Hollingsworth, ,Jason Gaines and Tori Jordan, all of Newton County; Nathan Shaw, Neshoba Central; Sara Whitsell, Scott Central; Beckie Fulton, Leake Academy; Stephen Spire, Union; .Ja:::on Alford, Philadelphia; and Jeff Denson, Morton.
