ECCC Offers Free ABE, GED Classed

In Newton County, ABE clas~ are offered from 8 to 11 a m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays on ECCC's South Campus; from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays at • the 1\:ewton Elementary School Library; and from 6 to 9 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays a t Union High School. ABE classes in Scott County are held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays at the Forest/Scott County Vo-Tech Center, ~d from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at Morton High School. In addition, ESL (English as a Second Language) classes are offered from 10:30 a.m. to nooo and 3:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Trinity Mission Center. ECCC Choir to Perform at Thalia Mara Hall The East Central Community College Concert Choir will participate in the mass choral concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, in Thalia Mara Hall in celebration of tne MS Community and Junior College Choral Festival's 50th anniversary, announced Charles Hinson, ECCC choral dtrector The MS Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Colman Pearce, will accompany the combined choirs in Beethoven's "Mas-. in C'' and Faure's "Requiem." Nearly 800 students will be d1v1ded mto two choirs with each choir singmg ooe of the selections. Tickets for the concert are 55 available at the hall the evening of concert.
