He later served two years as princi– pal at Nagee High School before assuming the same duties at Prentiss High School from 1957-67, He left the field ofeducation to be- · come persormel director and later plant manager at Mississippi Indus– tries for the Blind, where he was em– ployed until 1972. At this time he began his career with the Miss. De– partment of Education that contin– ued until his retirement in 1990. While serving with the education department, Sessums was elected to the Public Employees Retirement board, serving a six-year term. He also served as Board president for two-years. Through the years Sessums has mainta ined his love of sports by officiating that football games from 1955 to I 990 and basketball con– tests for three years during that pe– riod. He currently serves as secre– tary ofthe Mississippi Football Of– fic ials Association where his duties including recruiting, training, and evaluating officials in addition to assigning them to games. He has served the past six years as State Director of the Nati o na l High School Officials AssocJation. Sessums, who was inducted into the Mississippi College Sports Hall of Fame in 1981, is a former national president of the MO Alumni Asso- ciation and played a major role in helping raise funds to construct the college's new footba ll stadium. In addition to his associates degree from East Central and bachelor's degree from MC, Sessums holds a master's degree in school adminis-
