DONATES TO ECCC FITNESS TRAIL - La-Z-Boy South in Newton recently contributed $5000 to help build a fitness trail currently under construction at East Central Community College in Decatur. Shown during the check presentation are Earl Bryan (left), company vice president/general manager, and Dr. Eddie M. Smith, ECCC president. Estimated to cost $50,000, the 1/2 mile trail is located on the north end of the captpus between the College pond and softball field. Plans call for the trail to be lighted, paved and handicapped accessible. Twenty exercise stations will also be placed along the path. East Central is also eligible for a $20,000 matching grant for the project from the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks and the Federal Highway Administration.
