East Central Community College to offer EMT courses East Central Community College will offer an EMT (Emergency Medical Training) class in each of the College's five district counties for the 1998 fall semester. A minimum enrollment of 12 students is required for each class. Students interested in taking the course must meet the following prerequisites, as established from the Guidelines and Minimum Standards of the Miss. State Department of Health and State Depart– ment ofEducation: (I) be at least 18 years ofage, {2) able to read and write, (3) high school graduate or GED equivalent, (4) minimum score of l 0 on the TABE reading test or 16 on the ACT taken after October, 1998, or score of 12 if taken before October. 1989. (5) valid CPR certification (course C), (6) physically fit per physical examination by physic1an and, (7) have Hepatitis B vaccination starter prior to clinical or ambulance run portion of the class. The TABE test will be administered on the ECCC campus m Decatur beginning at s·a.m. on Tuesday, July 28 and at the same time on Tuesday, August 4. ·Q98.
